CHRISTMAS BASH!
Welcome to christmas bash with Backstreet Girls
and The Yobs at Rockefeller december 27th. Duckwalk down for the
greatest christmas party this year.
Christmas would'nt be christmas without The Yobs!
The Yobs were the alter-egos of The Boys. Having released an
album and two singles on NEMS, they decided to rearrange the 'B'
and 'Y' and became The Yobs for their Christmas 1977 single "Run
Rudolph Run" c/w "Worm Song". Following the release of
"Alternative Chartbusters" The Boys went into dispute with their
record company and bootlegged themselves as The Yobs for their
Christmas 1978 offering of "Silent Night" c/w "Stille Nacht".
Unreleased video by legendary Norwegian
boogierockers Backstreet Girls. Taken from their 2003 album Sick
My Duck. So why has it taken so long to launch this video? The
raw material's been aging in oak casks for about five years, to
gain that perfectly balanced blend of whiskey and rock 'n' roll,
that's why. Salute!

BSG SPECIAL GUEST AT NY DOLLS SHOW IN OSLO
Backstreet Girls will support legendary NY Dolls
at Rockefeller, Oslo 24th of july. The New York Dolls created
punk rock before there was a term for it. Building on the
Rolling Stones' dirty rock & roll, Mick Jagger's androgyny, girl
group pop, the glam rock of David Bowie and T. Rex, and the
Stooges' anarchic noise, the New York Dolls created a new form
of hard rock that presaged both punk rock and heavy metal. Their
drug-fueled, shambolic performances influenced a generation of
musicians in New York and London, who all went on to form punk
bands. And although they self-destructed quickly, the band's two
albums remained two of the most popular cult records in rock &
roll history.
All of the members of the New York Dolls played in New York
bands before they formed in late 1971. Guitarists Sylvain
Sylvain (who named the band), Johnny Thunders and Rick Rivets,
bassist Arthur Kane, and drummer Billy Murcia were joined by
vocalist David Johansen. Early in 1972. The group began playing
regularly in lower Manhattan, particularly at the Mercer Arts
Center. Within a few months, they had earned a dedicated cult
following, but record companies were afraid of signing the band
because of their cross-dressing and blatant vulgarity.
The new album "Just When You Thought Things
Couldn't Get Any Worse... Here's The: Backstreet Girls" will be
in the stores 9th of march. This is Backstreet Girls' 15th album
since the start back in 1984. You can pre-listen to two of the
songs on the upcoming album at

BSG SIGN DEAL WITH VOICES OF WONDER RECORDS
Backstreet Girls have signed a new record deal
with the label Voices of Wonder Records, marketed and
distributed by Voices Music & Entertainment AS (“VME”). VME was
founded as a label under the name Voices of Wonder Records in
1988 by Ketil Sveen and Dag Krogsvold. In the first years the
company was a label focusing on signing and developing Norwegian
rock acts. Since then the company has expanded rapidly, and
business areas now also include distribution and publishing.
The Voices of Wonder Records label has for the last 20 years
been VME’s prime label for norwegian rock acts including Sister
Rain, Motorpsycho, The 3rd and the Mortal, David Ruiz, Wig Wam,
folk&røvere, Shit City, Thom Hell, Discipline, and now finally
the norwegian rock legends; The Backstreet Girls.
“Our relationship with Backstreet Girls goes back a long time”
says Dag Krogsvold, Chairman of VME. Pål “Krisa” Kristensen
played drums in my and Ketils group A Technicolor Dream, but
left when he was recruited to play bass with The Girlies. This
happened without any controversy and we have always kept a
strong friendship and admiration for the Backstreet Girls. I
still remember their very first gig at Torshov as a hellraisin’
rock’n’roll experience. So it is a big honor to release Norway’s
# 1 Rock’n’Roll Band on our label, especially since it is their
25th aniversary.”
Petter Baarli & co. describes the deal as a step in the right
direction. And look forward to future releases with VME.
Together Backstreet Girls and VME is on a “Hardcore Mission” to
give people pure rock ‘n’ roll!

DON'T FAKE IT TOO LONG
The previous unreleased album "Don't Fake It Too
Long" from 1995 to be released on
hit me! records in october.
Backstreet Girls had been in London in 1994 and recruited the
Irish rebell Pat Diamond as vocalist. He knew AC/DC and Faces,
and seemed to be the perfect frontman for the band. "Don't Fake
It Too Long" was recorded, but in 1995 Pat Diamond was kicked
out of the country by norwegian authorities, because he was
without a work permit. He returned to Norway a few weeks later, with short
hair, as a Hare Krishna. This time the band kicked him out, and
now one has never seen him since. Neither the album. But now
time has come to release one of the greatest album produced in
Norway.
