Boogie Till You Puke has been released in March 1988. In its original version, this album was made of 12 ‘skuds’. It has been remastered and re-released in 2004 with 4 bonus tracks, for our greatest enjoyment! Then, how does BACKSTREET GIRL sound like? Take ROSE TATTOO, STATUS QUO, RAMONES & AC/DC, shake it up hardly and there you have BACKSTREET GIRLS! Through this ‘Boogie Till You Puke’, the Norwegian boys shake our foundation with their high level boogie/hard. Believe me, the 16 songs of the album leave us worn out so the riffs of Baarli’s crew never give us any relief! It rocks, it hooks up, it goes right to your brain, it’s beating, it’s devilish, and one hell of energy comes along this album full of lead guitar, a new proof of what is true rock n roll! How is it possible that such a band remains unknown? Injustice, simply. Do you feel depressed? Wanna have some fun? Then you don’t need no doctor, just take this ‘Boogie Till You Puke’ with a good beer and let you go, 30 seconds later you’ll see yourself kick the rhythm with your foot or even jump around, and sing along the backing vocals by screaming to the choruses of the tunes! This album deserves a 8.5/10!!!

1990 coming the new album of BACKSTREET GIRLS, bearing the name ‘Coming Down Hard’. The Baarli brothers strike again! The recipe is the same, bloody riffs, sing along choruses, and sharp guitar solos! No need to change a winning team. The 14 original tracks are backed up by 3 bonus tracks. It’s true that the BACKSTREET GIRLD ain’t lazy, and the what we get is worth our money. Our Norwegian friends are in great shape, you can feel it right away as soon as the song ‘Temple of Lust’ begins, a pure hard rock style tune. The following is of the same caliber, big balled hard boogie rock! We are obliged to play some tracks over and over again,, like ‘Speed City Symphony’ with its fake nonchalant rhythm, that leads us to bang our head and kick our foot, a beat that our heart itself wouldn’t do. And what to say about ‘Medecine Man’? About ‘Mad Dog in Soho’? About ‘She’s So Bad’, with its sing along chorus! I don’t even mention the mid-tempo tune ‘Back With A Bang’, influenced by our beloved AC/DC. To sum it up, it’s another album to own! 8/10 is a well deserved grade.

The last spawned album of BACKSTREET GIRL is ‘Sick My Duck’, released in 2003. The only surprise is the changing of bass player, Thunderbird replaces Lunde.

This album begins with ‘Hard Roxx’, with an intro riff very much inspired by AC/DC. Right away the pace is set and the feet are already... kickin’! The lead guitar part is very rock n roll, short but good. ‘Black Boogie Death Rock N Roll’ is the kinda tune that we hear over and over again without getting bored of it, it also reminds of AC/DC. It’s easy to remember the chorus, you’ll sing it along for sure! ‘Gutter Talk’ reminds me of the RAMONES, I love it, I’m sure Joey would have like to sing this tune. Very good song. ‘Boogie My Life Away’ is a pure product with a 1000% rock n roll boogie trade mark, I’ll see well Chuck Berry sing this one!

‘Damn That Man’ start in a ROSE TATTOO way, awesome tune, very rock n roll, with a kick ass rhythm, it rocks, we shake our asses, feet are kickin’ rhythm faster and faster! ‘Feed The Money’ is a mid-tempo tune, my feet get a rest, they were getting really tired! ‘Hizbollah Rock N Rollah’ offers us a beautiful intro, the riffs are very good, the guitar sound is thick, and once again the chorus invites us to sing along. Rock n roll is really good this way! ‘Born Bad’ is tune made in AC/DC, Bon Scott era. Once again, Muller and his crew hit the bull’s eye. ‘Hiroshima Shakin’ starts in a superb way. this song is very good, with a sustained rhythm. ‘Drink ‘till we Stink’ is 4.09 min. of hard rock, as simple and as good as it can be. ‘Downtown Shocker’ resembles ‘Drink ‘Till’, and 3:29 min. seem short. ‘Partypounder’ is a boogie tune with a chorus that the Quo wouldn’t reject. The album ends with ‘Victory’, an instrumental that reminds a lot of ‘Sink the Pink’ by AC/DC There ends the album, which I give a 8.5/10. Let us note that the BACKSTREET GIRLS should release a new album in 2006, I’m dying to listen to it!
